Addressing the whole person: “My journey in medicine began in OB/GYN, where I spent 17 years caring for women of all ages. Over the years, I became increasingly aware of conventional medicine’s limitations. I completed a fellowship in Integrative Medicine and certification in Functional Medicine. And, in 2020, I wrote and published ‘Physician, Care for Thyself,” a book to empower women to take control of their health and lead vibrant lives.”

A self-care realization: “I had my children during my fourth-year residency and first year of private practice, while working full-time. This period was marked by stress, lack of sleep, and relational issues. Implementing lifestyle changes and delving into integrative and functional medicine transformed my well-being. Recognizing the importance of nutrition, exercise, stress management, and sleep, I now prioritize these aspects in patient care.”

Sharing in the journey: “The most rewarding part of caring for women in midlife is being there for them as they navigate a familiar journey. When they’re tired, unwell, or struggling with mood, cognition, sleep, or body image, it affects their ability to thrive. Witnessing their transformation as they regain their confidence and ability to show up for themselves and their loved ones is gratifying.”
