Midi is in-network with most PPO plans. Coverage varies by plan; deductibles, coinsurance, and copays may still apply. If your plan is an HMO, Midi is not in-network and your visit will be self-pay. Midi Health and the Medical Groups are not enrolled with and are not participating providers with state healthcare programs (i.e., Medi-Cal, Medicaid). We cannot treat Medicaid or Medi-Cal patients at this time, even as self-pay patients.

Midi is not covered by Medicare or any Medicare-related insurance plan. Midi can accept Medicare beneficiaries as self-pay patients, but beneficiaries cannot submit any claims related to their Midi visits, medications, or associated services. What Else Can We Help You With?

What kinds of care does Midi provide?

What should I expect on my first visit with a  Midi clinician?

How does Midi handle in-person care, such as labs, Pap tests, and mammograms?

Your Midi clinician will work with you to make sure you’re up to date on your in-person care, including Paps and mammograms. If you need testing, we’ll direct you to a facility that’s convenient for you. For bloodwork, Midi generally uses Labcorp because it has a vast network of drop-in locations, but we can order tests elsewhere if you prefer. Just let us know in your health questionnaire if there’s a specific facility you’d like us to use.

Once your tests are completed, your clinician will review your results and make changes to your Care Plan if needed. We will reach out to you if it’s necessary to talk through your results in a follow-up visit.

Does Midi offer both hormonal and non-hormonal treatments?

Yes! Midi believes in individualized care, so we recommend treatments based on your symptoms, your unique medical history, and your personal approach to health. Not every woman should take hormone replacement therapy (HRT), or wants to, so we draw from the full range of alternative solutions. We may recommend non-hormonal medications, supplements and botanicals, and/or wellness therapies (eg, acupuncture, cognitive behavior therapy, yoga), instead of HRT or alongside it. We also coach you on simple but effective lifestyle shifts around sleep, mindfulness, nutrition, and exercise. Finally, we consider a variety of safe and effective non-hormonal prescription medications which can bring relief without HRT.

How can you know when you're in perimenopause? Can you test for it?

Unfortunately, there's no one test that can tell you when the transition will start, or even say you that you're in the middle of it. Your hormones are going up and down a lot during this stage, so a blood test can be misleading. That said, your doctor can consider your age, the age that your mother or sister entered menopause, your health history, and all the symptoms you might be experiencing and then order a series of blood tests at different times to measure hormone levels. This might provide a clearer picture.
