An unfortunate side effect of telehealth has been that clinicians are asked to do two jobs at once: practice medicine and operate disjointed technology. It’s typical for clinicians in telehealth settings to have to work across myriad tools, jumping from screen to screen and click to click in the course of a visit. For too long, clinicians at Midi have had to work across a scattered set of more than five tools mid-visit. This meant hunting for the right button at the right moment while trying to stay present with the patient in front of them.
One Guided Flow, Start to Finish
We know the pain of navigating burdensome tech is a key cause of clinician burnout, and solving this pain point has been one of our top priorities this year. To that end, we recently shipped a new AI-powered clinical interface to all the clinicians in our network. The new MidiPal starts from a different premise: what if the tool followed the natural shape of a visit instead of the other way around? MidiPal now moves clinicians through one guided flow in real-time: Understand the patient before the appointment begins → Join the visit → Chart and order prescriptions → Schedule follow-up → Close → Move to the next patient. A logical, chronological flow that works alongside their work instead of interrupting it.
Rather than having to jump from tool to tool searching for disparate information mid-visit, the new interface brings everything into one place. Now, clinicians get a single home base showing their full daily schedule, visit countdowns, and quick access to patient search. For the vast majority of a clinician’s workday, there’s no more juggling browser tabs across systems — and we’re working on fully integrating the remaining edge cases, too.
Previsit Prep in 90 Seconds
One of the most exciting changes is previsit prep. Historically, fully understanding a patient's context—their history, medications, allergies, recent labs, treatment preferences, and so on— required pulling data across multiple systems, a process that could take up to 10 minutes per patient. MidiPal’s AI engine now reads intake forms, electronic health record (EHR) history, message threads, and new results—pulling together not just the current visit but the full arc of a patient's care with us—and hands back a structured, clinician-ready summary in 90 seconds or less. That’s all time back that can now be devoted to patient-provider conversation and actual caregiving. We’re applying this same principle across documentation, pre-auths, coding, and scheduling: let AI carry the admin load so clinicians don't have to.

The new, AI-powered MidiPal is fully integrated with a clinician’s schedule, puts all the information they need at their fingertips, and generates a clinical summary instantly in an easily digestible format.
Built with Guardrails for Safety and Compliance
Building in healthcare always means building with guardrails. With MidiPal, things like allergy and safety information are highlighted versus being buried in text, directly reducing the risk of missed contraindications during visits. The system only organizes what's already documented; it doesn't guess. It’s explicitly constrained so that it cannot generate independent diagnoses or fill in missing information. If something isn't in the chart, it does not hallucinate, it clearly marks any blank fields as “Not Documented.” Compliance and legal checks are embedded directly in the workflow. DEA verification and collaborative physician alignment checks appear right in the visit flow itself, so nothing gets skipped in the rush of a busy clinic day.
AI as a Co-Pilot for Clinicians
One of the coolest things about working on AI products at Midi is that we’re not bolting on to generic models. Rather, we’re making intelligent products that are purpose-built for women’s health. And MidiPal is only the beginning. There is way too much friction in healthtech. What clinicians want is a single, intuitive workspace with all the complexity of orchestration, context, and data hidden underneath. AI is the connective tissue that makes that possible, and a really great, tangible use case for it. AI at Midi is built to serve as our clinicians’ co-pilot—an intelligent sidekick that can reduce admin burden and separate signal from noise so that our clinicians can spend more of their time listening to and working with what matters most—their patients.
Midi’s mission is to revolutionize healthcare for women at midlife, wherever they live and whatever their health story. We believe that starts with education, to help all of us understand our always-changing bodies and health needs. Our core values guide everything we do, including standards that ensure the quality and trustworthiness of our content and editorial processes. We’re committed to providing information that is up-to-date, accurate, and relies on evidence-based research and peer-reviewed journals. For more details on our editorial process, see here.
